Where is the event taking place?
Due to the ongoing Covid19 restrictions, this year we are doing things differently and holding our annual AFA Conference as an online virtual event on Wednesday 14 & Thursday 15 October 2020.
The AFA Virtual Conference will be held on an online platform, which can be accessed via a web browser (on a laptop, PC or mobile). The conference will start at the below time in the different time zones on Wednesday 14 October:
Can I share my virtual conference login with the other members of my team?
It is recommended that you do not share your virtual conference login with your team. We will be tracking your attendance for CPD points via your login activities. Should other staff members require their own CPD certificate, they will need to register to the conference to obtain their own login details.

Will the session recordings & presentations be made available post-event?
Yes, the sessions are being recorded and will be available post-event as on-demand videos. You will be able to log back on to the platform post-event to re-watch any sessions that you’ve enjoyed – or watch any sessions that you’ve missed!
These on-demand videos will only be available up to 4 months post event.
What technology/equipment do I need to attend this event?
- A computer, laptop or tablet
- Good internet connection
- A webcam and/or a microphone, should you wish to network at the event
The AFA 2020 Conference app that will require you to download onto your phone.
Will I have to download extra software?
Not at all! You do not need to download any extra software to attend the AFA 2020 Virtual Conference. The online platform can be accessed via a webpage on any web browser.
Closer to the event, you will be sent your login details.
Can I transfer my registration?
Absolutely! Should you be unable to attend the AFA Virtual Conference, you are more than welcome to transfer your registration to someone else. Please notify us in writing firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can update our records and send your substitute their login details to access the conference online platform.
You can earn up to 36 CPD hours for attending the AFA Virtual Conference.
We will be tracking your login activity on the conference online platform, so you don’t need to do anything more than watch your selected sessions in their entirety online!
CPD content is available for 4 months post conference. All virtual conference sessions will be recorded and available on-demand post event. Just log back on to the platform to view any sessions that you have missed. You will be able to search and filter all the available sessions by their FASEA learning category areas.
What is the program structure of the conference?
The AFA Virtual Conference takes inspiration from our usual annual AFA conference program; there will be keynote sessions, panels, breakout sessions, networking events and even an expo – but all online and running over the 2 days.
A bonus this year is on-demand access to all conference content, including 25+ pre-recorded sessions by industry experts, for 4 months post conference.
Will we be able to ask questions during the sessions?
Some of the sessions will be holding Q & A. This will be facilitated on the virtual conference platform with easy to use instructions.
Will there be an online exhibition?
Yes! Although our exhibition will look very different this year, you will be able to connect with our AFA Virtual Conference exhibitors on the online platform.
Our exhibition area will be open 24/7 all day long – and not just available between the BREAK times, so hop on and chat with any one of our exhibitors to learn more about their products and offering.
Can I watch more than 1 concurrent sessions?
No, you are unable to watch more than 1 concurrent session at the same time. We will be tracking how long you stay in a session in order for you to qualify for the session’s CPD hours. However, sessions are being recorded and will be available post-event as on-demand videos for a period of 4 months.
You will be able to log back on to the platform post-event to watch any sessions that you’ve missed!
Will there be a social event program?
Yes! There will be a virtual Welcome Reception on Wednesday 14 October at the end of the business program. We encourage you to join!
Will there be a Gala Dinner?
Unfortunately, we will not be holding a virtual Gala Dinner at the conference. We look forward to holding this event in 2021.
Are you able to network with other attendees in the virtual conference?
Yes, the community is moving online. There will be a chat function to interact with other participants.
Do you have a payment plan?
Yes! A 3-month payment plan is available for registrations made in August and a 2-month payment plan is available for all registrations made before Early Bird closes on 25 September 2020.

What is the cancellation fee?
A full refund of your registration fees will only be available providing a written notification to firstname.lastname@example.org of your cancellation is received. Substitutions may be made at any time.
