This year the AFA Conference will be held on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd September

This year's conference is in a hybrid format - meaning once you purchase a conference ticket, you will gain access to our virtual platform where you can tune into the livestreaming of the conference. However, to incorporate some real life interaction - we will be hosting face-to-face events in most capital cities around Australia . These will occur on the evening of the 22nd September, and are at an additional cost to the conference ticket. Details of these networking events will be revealed on the ‘Events’ tab in the coming weeks, and are subject to change in accordance to state COVID-19 restrictions.

  • Gain up to 30 hours of CPD points to go toward your professional development
  • Content available for up to 4 months post conference
  • Listen and watch over 35 live speakers

Due to the conference being streamed live from Sydney, start and finish times will be different depending on in which state the delegate is based in. In Sydney, the conference will kick-off at 10:00am and finish around 5:00pm each day.

We will have our usual plenary keynotes; President update (Mike Nowak), Minister update (Senator Jane Hume), policy update (Phil Anderson) and international and local speakers. We will also have informative industry panel sessions; Super (industry vs retail), Investments (passive vs active investing) and a technology panel. We will have three community of practice masterclasses pre-recorded; Inspire, Genxt, and Pulse. We will also have a number of advice best practice industry leading speakers including Rob Jones from Peloton Partners and Cate Americano from Inspiration Café.

Some of the sessions will include Q&A. This will be facilitated on the virtual conference platform with easy-to-use instructions.

To earn CPD, delegates only need to watch the sessions in their entirety online as we will be tracking viewing activity on the conference platform. Following the Conference, delegates will receive their CPD certificates, as per previous conferences and remember, delegates have up to 4 months to watch all the conference content so complete flexibility is a key benefit.

From 23rd September 2021 to 23rd January 2022 (CPD points are available across a 4-month period, not limited to the live Conference itself).

You can continue from where you left off, your time will be tracked when you are online.

The majority of live Conference sessions (not inclusive of the finale speaker, breaks/ads or content outside of scheduled content), all videos in the on demand content section and masterclasses are CPD accredited (please use the filter in the on demand section to pick which FASEA category you would like to watch content relevant to). Note: Virtual Expo area does have video content, but this is not CPD accredited content.

CPD hours and the relevant FASEA categories will be confirmed to you following Conference through the issue of CPD certificates. Generally, if you watch a CPD accredited session for the full duration (i.e. 1 hour) you will receive 1 hour CPD for that session. Certificates will be generated via the CPD hub. Note that if you click off the video before the session finishes you will not be eligible to receive the CPD accreditation for that session, you must watch it all even if not in one viewing.
