AFA GREAT ADVICE AWARDS 2021

In 2021, the AFA wants to celebrate our shared belief in the need for great advice for more Australians and our vision to empower financial advice professionals to transform the lives of Australians through quality financial advice.

At this year’s AFA Evolve Conference in September 2021 – we’ll be announcing a winner in each state of the AFA’s Great Advice Award.

WHAT ARE THE GREAT ADVICE AWARDS FOR?



The Awards are about acknowledging a Great Advice story that you, as a financial adviser, have delivered. One in which you helped one of your clients achieve a successful outcome demonstrating the financial, behavioural and emotional value your advice provided.

The AFA will be announcing each state winner on 22 September at the AFA Conference state-based evening event.

The Awards will then be promoted via media, social media, AFA magazine and website over following weeks and months. These stories will also help us to advocate for the value of financial advice with the Government and regulators. Please participate to help us promote advice.

We know there are thousands of great advice stories out there and we’d love to hear yours. If you are aware of something special that one of your colleagues has done, then encourage them to apply.

HOW TO ENTER



To submit your entry for the AFA Great Advice Awards you need to
email the following documents to events@afa.asn.au

1 The completed application form
DOWNLOAD APPLICATION FORM

2 A testimonial from the client mentioned
in your application.

3 The contact details of a state/senior manager at
your licensee who will provide a reference.


ELIGIBILITY



To be eligible to enter the AFA Great Advice Awards you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are currently an authorised financial adviser providing personal advice to clients.
  • You are a current AFA member.
  • The advice and client example must have been provided post 1 January 2020.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS



Applications will be accepted between 23 July and 23 August 2021 only..

Applications will be judged by a state-based panel comprising representatives:

  • The State Director or Chair.
  • A representative of the AFA State Based Communities of Practice.
  • A representative from an AFA Partner, such as a technical expert.

Judging will take place from 23 August 2021 and a short list for each state (comprising three) will be provided to AFA HQ by 30 August. The top three in each state will be contacted to verify their client story via the provision of the relevant SOA (Privacy requirements apply) or other supporting documentation being sent to the AFA between 31 August and 6 September 2021.

The judges decision will be validated with due diligence checks (eg: ASIC, Licensee). Once completed, the judges decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the decision.

AFA Annual Awards Program

Please note that due to COVID restrictions and in conjunction with our award partners Zurich, OnePath and TAL, we have decided to defer the 2021 AFA annual awards program to 2022 when we are able to host these awards and celebrate the achievements of finalists and winners in person in one location. The Great Advice Awards have been developed as a state based program for 2021 that showcases stories of the great advice that advisers provide to their clients every day.
